Choosing The Best Transportation To The Airport In South Africa
South Africa, the host country of the 2010 World Cup, has three international airports. These airports are managed by ACAS, (Airports Company South Africa), which operates or manages 10 of the South Africa’s airports, handling more than 97 percent of the country’s commercial air traffic. If need to get to any of the airport you have several options. As a local traveler you might choose to drive yourself to the airport and park your vehicle at the airport’s parking facilities. For the business travel, who is need of their car on short notice upon returning from their trip this is a suitable option, but has several disadvantages.o 1. The expenditure for parking on a long trip can be very expensive. 2. Parking in the long-term parking facility requires taking a shuttle bus from the airport to get your vehicle, adding to your total travel time. 3. Upon your return from a long, tiring trip you still have to drive home.
Then there is the option is to have someone drop you off and pick you at the airport. The major advantage to this if the fact it’s quick and efficient. You don’t have to worry about parking your car or catching a shuttle bus to and from the long-term parking facility. You get dropped off and picked up right in the front of the airport terminal. Getting picked up upon arrival can be a little more complicated as your flight may be delayed or even running ahead of schedule. So the person picking you up has to park their car and wait for you or you may have to wait for them. But on the other hand nothing is more exciting than collecting friends or family arriving to visit. With this option there is always the normal cost involved with driving to the airport and back home.
A drop off can overcome the disadvantages of driving yourself. This is usually fast and you are dropped off right at the terminal building with no need to park the car. However, the pickup is the problem. Sometimes flights can be delayed or ahead of schedule. This means you have to wait for the person you are picking up or the person has to wait for you. This may even force you to park the car. Dropping and picking is best for friends or relatives who have been away for long.
For visitors who stay at major hotels, there are shuttle services operated by these hotels that run several times a day. Usually this service is free and it has the added advantage of taking you right to your destination. However, this method runs on a schedule therefore you have to plan your travel as per their schedule. You can also opt for car hire companies especially while on holiday to improve your mobility. There are many recognized rental companies such as avis, europcar and hertz among others.
Shuttle services are also available for visitors on organized tours. Depending on the group size, you will have the tour guide or the shuttle bus driver waiting for you at the airport. There are shuttle services to all major cities, which can be booked online, or on arrival. The major advantage of shuttle services is the affordability. However, you have to wait for sometime or until the shuttle has filled up before you can be taken to your destination. Shuttles also do not take you directly to your destination since every passenger has to be dropped off at a different address Finally, for those traveling to a destination close to the airport you can take metered taxis.
These reduce any chance of delay associated with shuttle buses but the cost is much higher especially for longer distances. By 2010 there will be a quatrain running from Pretoria to Johannesburg and to the airports. This will further bring passengers close to their destinations.

Ubud Hotels
Some distance from the crowded beaches full of noisy teenagers, only an hours’ drive from Ngurah Rai airport or Kuta you may find Ubud, an island within an island. The difference in settings is amazing when you arrive here compared to coastal destinations. Ubud hotels are pure luxury, giving the best accommodation available in Bali. There are no beach resorts and Ubud has grown into one of the most superb places to go to anywhere in Bali.
The Bali accommodation of Ubud is set amongst the beauty of the rainforest and mountains, with all the hotel and villa accommodation starting from the mid price up to the top 5 star deluxe Ubud Hotels. There are a scattering of budget places to remain but are not situated anywhere near the tranquil settings that makes Ubud such a popular destination.
When it comes to hotel accommodation, there are few places, not only in Bali, but anywhere in the world that can compare to Ubud extravagance. Some of the finest accommodation that Ubud has to supply is the traditional Bali Villas that have been changed to provide pure lavishness and comfort. The most up market villas will be completely isolated from any other building and you will have a feeling that you are completely isolated from anyone else. You will be sitting on a deck area with a backdrop of some natural beauty that only Ubud has to offer, 24 hour room service, air conditioning, all the mod cons that you might wish for. Almost all of the private villas have infinity pools for you to cool down in during the heat of the day. Spas and massage services will be available in the best places, with five star cafes and bar facilities.
There are many art studios and shops to be found in the main village of Ubud. Some of the paintings, sculptures and other designs can be picked up at very reasonable prices. When buying artwork just make sure that there isn’t any ivory, still very common as a medium for some artwork, as you’ll get it confiscated when you arrive home or worse.
In the village you’ll also find many spas and places where you can get a massage if the service is not offered to you at one of the Ubud hotels. Having such a glorious natural surrounding Ubud offers many cycle paths and hiking trails that connect some of the more impressive views, except for the mountains and rain-forest a trip to the volcano is always exciting. Personal guides will always be available if you are afraid of getting lost. The hotels and villas all offer day trip Bali tours if you want to do some diving or whitewater rafting and will organize everything you need.
There’s so much to take in and experience in Ubud that when you have visited once you are bound to go back for another trip. The terrain around Ubud offers such a large amount of different gorgeous views that there will be many Ubud hotels that you’ll be able to stay in over some vacations and still want more ; it is just such an awe inspiring landscape and cultural haven.
As far as destinations in Bali go, Ubud is fully unique and so busy throughout the year. The Bali weather tends to affect the popularity of the seafront resorts more than Ubud. Even though Bali’s wet season is fairly long, October to May, there is still lots to experience in Ubud. Having the dense rain forest to explore in the wet stormy season, the cultural programs, and the art courses that are always available brings holiday makers here even when the beaches of Kuta and Sanur are comparatively quiet. The peak season is still from Apr to Sept, but it’s still significant that you book sufficiently early so you can stay in one of Ubuds wonderful hotels or villas.
If you are looking for Ubud Hotels or any other information to help you decide on your Bali holiday check out Bali Accommodation. From Budget to deluxe we can help you find the right accommodation for your Bali Holiday.
